Andrew
Decided to paint my calipers and noticed that the front calipers are larger than the back calipers. I know that my fronts are UK spec because I had pads fitted a couple of months back. Is it possible that the previous owners had only coverted the front and left the rears, or do the UK specs have small rear calipers? If I do have a mixture, is it safe? Cheers Andrew
Branners
The UK rears are smaller than the fronts, theres no point in having them the same size as the fronts do most of the braking anyway. So long as they look like a mini version of the UK fronts then they are okay, if they look small with openings near the bottom of the caliper then they might be j-specs. Somebody really needs to take some piccies of the front and rear calipers on UK and imports and then post them in a thread on here so we can all reference back to them. Alex
Front disc/calipers will always be bigger as the front does 70% of the braking! I believe the UK rears have two piston as opposed to the j-spec 1 piston

Terminator
There is nothing wrong with running UK fronts and Jap rears. As said above most of the braking ison the fronts when it matters. At low speeds, when braking is more evenly didtributed back and front, the jap rears are perfectly adequate.
Matt Harwood
I'm running UK front's and J-spec rears. No problems here... Except that my rear disks are warped:(
