A little help with Bushes

Guys,

My car is Jittering / clunking like a (insert own joke here).

I have been reliably informed that my Bushes are knackered.

Can someone give a a run down on:

-What are a good set of Poly Bushes.

-What are the cheapest I can get away with for just average weekend driving.

-Where I can get them from.

-And should I attempt to fit them myself. NB I know the business end of a screwdriver, but that took a while.

Car is a 1993 NA jap import.

Any help much appreciated. and Apologies if this should have been in the general chat thread.

Thanks in advance

STuart

I've got bad news, more bad news, and even more bad news.

Bad news:

The poly bushes are a bit rubbish and the stock ones are fancy pants things that mean swapping them with poly ones will take masses of labour time

More bad news:

Toyota don't sell replacement bushes because of said fancy-pantsness. You have to buy all new suspension arms.

Even more bad news:

They cost a fortune. Hong Kong Nic can get them at about 50% of the cost in the UK though, if you can wait for them. Also, it costs a fortune to get them swapped as well and I wouldn't try doing it yourself. And that's just swapping the arms, if you do the poly bushes the labour costs will push the price up towards that of getting the new suspension arms anyway.

However, here is my writeup of going through said pain:

Worth it in the end :)

As above i tottally agree

Take it from someone who went the poly bush route - me. The handling has improved but it has really highlighted other areas that are saggy and old and still not the confidence inspiring ride i was hoping to achieve.

If i had to do it again i would have saved up for the new suspension components from toyota.
