RedM
My girlfriend is after a training CD-ROM (NOT the actual accounts program) for Sage Line 50. She has found two, one from Amazon (Training - Sage Getting Started with Sage Line 50) and one on the Sage website (Sage 50 Accounts Interactive CD Rom). She is not not sure that the Amazon one is an ‘official’ Sage product, perhaps licensed – it has higher system requirements than the other. Basically she doesn’t want to get stuck with an obsolete product teaching out of date techniques. She wants to make sure it's an up to date version. She is also aware that there are much better accounting programs than Sage, but as it’s Sage she is learning at college, they’ll do her no good. All suggestions/preferences/advice etc gratefully received.

Guest Killer Heels
I have had a look at both packages and they both seem ok. I know that sage have just released there latest Line 50 (VERSION 2008) and so to be on the safe side i would personally order from sage to make sure it is up to date. I am not 100% certain but i am sure if she had a problem with it then she will also be able to use the sage helpline (i can find out) which is very helpful. If you have any further questions let me know and i can ask our sage director at work tomorrow for you. Kate

Pete
The basics in Line50 haven't really changed much over the years. They've added a few more features, but to get started I wouldn't say this would be a problem.

Pete
I'm afraid I don't have any experience of the two learning products you link. My gut feeling would be the Amazon one.
