edge
Earth fault? foot switch? Check the wiring etc and have a look under the pedal. Not sure if the pug has that design but only an idea.
Wez
I had a quick look around the pedal area yesterday but could see anything, will have a proper look today. Earth fault in the rear light area?

Maybe worth a look. I once changed a bulb in a saxo and then the lights went all spastic, then realised i hadnt fitted the right one. Rob Dublin
Lost count of the amount of 206's I've seen with this problem. Maybe ring a local Peugeout service, they must have come across the problem before as it seems to happen to lot of examples
supra steveo
used to have a 206 GTi and there is a connection in the passenger side kick well that might need some attention and this is a very common fault in 206s

Guest IainS
As above, in the passenger footwell is a switch which is pressed when the bar that the brake pedal is attached to is rotated (when you press the pedal). unplug and remove the switch (really easy) and press the button on the top of a few times to loosen it - mine got stuck once on my old 206 and some bloke chased me 40 miles up the M6 at 3 in the morning to tell me that my brake lights were permanently on - I was sh*tting myself that he was trying to kill me, turned out he was a good samaritan! Restored my faith in humanity...briefly...got a speeding that night too!
p111ddy
As above really You'll have to replace the brake light switch which is in the pass footwell only take's 5 minute's or so to do or take to your nearest dealer and they will replace it for arrox £30 all in. Even though the part itself is about £8 but get the clip for it also as it comes separate (12p) because there very easy to brake Michael
Kranz
I had a citroen ZX that did this. The plug had fallen off the brake switch just above the pedal.
