jot_ie
Maxol have been rolling out this new fuel in their fourcourts around Ireland over September. Its supposed to be about 15-20% cheaper than normal unleaded Its also supposed to be 104 octane. Will this stuff work in a vvti tt engine? Doesnt the vvti have some kind of automatic advance/retard capability? I am enclosing maxol's official brochure released here in ireland if you fancy a read. What other mods have to be made to get this to work? John

Guest DaveWilko
There was an article about bioethanol in Practical Performance Car a few months ago. It said it is great stuff but you need to convert your fuel lines. It didn't say what to though
Alex
You'd need a complete remap. Get yourself a MoTeC, Autronic or HKS V Pro if you want to run it.
b_have
You'd need a complete remap. Get yourself a MoTeC, Autronic or HKS V Pro if you want to run it. and some bigger injectors, stoich is way richer with ethanol.
Wez
Lucky git, I wish it was available near me as I want to run it. As mentioned before you will need a full remap.

I was afraid of that... in order to run this stuf I am going to need 1 piggyback fuel computer 2 injectors 3 fuel lines 4 remap would that do it do you think? Thanks for the input, much appreciated
Tricky-Ricky
Don't know much about this, so why a complete remap? and what is stoic on BE fuel? surly it is aimed at most modern cars? so do all recent cars have a duel map ECU?
Jake
Its supposed to be about 15-20% cheaper than normal unleaded 15-20% cheaper. . . but you use 30% more of it compared to petrol.
Wez
Some modern cars use flexfuel sensors which can detect the ratio/blend and alter the fueling as required, I have been looking into hooking one of these up to an AEM. Gasoline Max Power: 12.5-13.2:1 Stoich: 14.7:1 E85 Max Power: 6.9-8.4:1 Stoich: 9.7:1 Some more info can be found here
