damientt
MY TT had been sitting idle for over a week so I took it for a blast tonight. When I got back there were very loud bubbling/water rushing noises coming from around the radiator. The temp guage was reading OK so I re-started the engine. The 'L' shaped pipe to the top and rear of the radiator contracted in on itself so I stopped the car immediately and the pipe gradually expanded back to normal. I checked the coolant reservoir and it looks a little low ... but certainly not empty. No sign of any obvious coolant leaks. Any ideas? I'm a bit worried that something has f**ked up badly. Burna
How old is your rad cap Damien? I'd try replacing that first.
damientt
Probably as old as the TT - 12 years.

damientt
Do you reckon it's best to go for a stock Toyota cap or something else?

damientt
I got a new stock radiator cap and fitted it this morning. The car seems to be fine now :). The old cap had fallen apart. Thanks for the help and the very quick replies.
