SIMON LC
Ok I know there is a Step by Step guide but it does'nt actually explain the cutting of the bonnet process. My guess is a cutting disc on a dremel or perferating it with a series of holes from a drill.Just wondering if anybody else has done the conversion and how they went about the cutting process. Its a part of the operation that you dont get any practice on or 2nd chance and the metal can stretch very easily. merckx
If I was to do it I would use an angle grinder and some thin metal cutting discs like these. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/pd1-plasma-cutting-disc-41-2in/path/12-router-bits-cutting-grinding-discs-diam Be very careful and take safety precautions if you haven't used an angle grinder before. A dremmel would work too but the good cutting discs are very expensive.
Homer
There's a thread here showing one way to do it: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=13098
merckx
After seeing those pics I can see that it won't be possible to do all of the cuts with a large cutting wheel.
