hodge
Ive had my mate round today with his supra. The other day he was driving it and heard a loud pop and then all power was lost. He told me when it was driving ok, the induction was was really loud when backing off but now theres nothing. The power has gone totally flat. I can hear the turbos spooling up but it has no boost at all as if the slip control has kicked in. Ive tried to turn the slip control off to make sure its not faulty but it makes no difference. Ive also done an ECU code check and the the engine light flashes constantly. This means there is no faults (I think). Ive also reset the ECU but again makes no difference. It feels the car has gone into safe mode or something and is alot flatter than an N.A. Does anyone have any ideas. I thought it would be an intercooler pipe burst or something but wanted to rule out every other option before I start stripping intercooler pipes off. Cheers in advance folks. Got a new set from Turbo Dynamics for £800 deliverd with steel internals and oversized bearings, am gona fit them in 2 weeks when im off work. Anyway Im fitting a FMIC to his car soon so im hoping im gona find a popped hose when I strip it down. Just out of curiousity could it be anything else which has made it do this. Jake
Check the intercooler hose down between the battery and the radiator. That's the usual place they come off if running above stock boost.
