Rich Lewis
Is it ok to pump the brake pedal to bleed the system or will this cause damage to the MBC?
Steve
I did pump mine to get the fluid through first (obviously there was fluid in the system, but i fitted bigger calipers) then you need to hold the pedal down whilst the bleed nipple is tightened. The release the pedal. Then undo the nipple then hold down again, tighten..........and so on until the air is out and the pedal is firm. You will need a mate to help do this. bignum
Its not ideal to pump the pedal, theres a chance your mastercylinder seal could get damaged, i use 1 of those easybleed kits but you have to make a different cap to fit on our reservoirs, then you can bleed away all by yourself. merckx
I'm not going to argue. Talk of master cylinder or caliper seals "flipping" is total BS, they just can't do this.
