Jamesy
hi guys im just about to remove the bonnet blanket from the underside of my bonnet (for extra sound of engine and bonnet! ) just wanted to check that as i have a few vents in the bonnet, i will not run into trouble with water sipping through the engine bay? hadyn
Where are the vents?
Jamesy
hiya Hadyn, have attached a couple of pics - 2 small ones on the right hand side and a bigger one on the left. they dont seem to let much water thro as i've felt under the vents and the blanket is damp but not soaked..... Jamesy
and underneath......
hadyn
That wont cause any problems especially as the vents are slightly ridged too... RIP IT OFF!! Your vents will actually work with the blanket off and help engine cooling by letting hot air out!
Jamesy
ok great - what would have caused a problem with the vents? in a different position above an important part of the engine? thanx guys !
hadyn
Id remove the rear spoiler too while you're at it
hadyn
Right over the engine would cause a few problems id presume. Saying that though my mate has a GT4 - Huge vent over the turbo/manifold area. He has ripped his underbonnet blanket off and hasnt had any problems in over 2 yrs:)

There are a few places that do pressing and should not damage the paint. Sorry but i cant remember any names. Surely someone will know. Edit - way toooo slow What about when it rains overnight (assuming no garage and non standard filter) and your air filter gets soaked? Will this make the engine go bang? Yes you will be ok but i was thinking about doing these also. I dont want water in my bay anyway so i need to think of some sort of path for it to go (maybe a plate just under the vents). Also if out in terrible weather and stuck in traffic what then?
