stingjay
hi just spraying my dash panels and found you dont need to remove the rubber coating. All i did was scothbrite the panel very gently (as provided by a exsprayer and his advice ) and wiped down with meths,Then used a couple of coats of hycote primer followed by hycote double acrylic paint (laquer to follow) it never reacted at all saving loads of time and swearing. hope this is handy to others j

miko_supra
surely its still very vulnerable to scratching though?
stingjay
tried doing pics of car .but they were to big don't know how to make them smaller
edge
So when you accidently knock them they are going to crack and peel like mad as the "black stuff" is soft. And hard paint on soft stuff is not good. Hope they dont go like this for you though. Is the hycote flexible?
patrikbrunt
only takes an hour or so to get the rubber stuff off anyway?
miko_supra
tried doing pics of car .but they were to big don't know how to make them smaller the way i get pics really downsized is to open them up and print screen them. then i just stick it in paint. usually a 1.7mb image goes to just 80kb
stingjay
cheers miko i'll try that . as for scraching 3 coats of laquer should take care of that. dont know if paint is flexiable but dash does bend when in place anyway (least mine doesn't)
