jim_supra
I have lots of wildlife near me, and on a morning when i get up it's quite nice to watch, I leave food out for the squirrels and I often see our resident fox roaming the garden. (probably hunting for squirrels!) The only bit of wildlife that annoys me is the woodpecker that insists on trying to remove the wooden pole that sits on top of the 'mill! Oh, and to balance things out; here is some stupid people on a makeshift catapult/ see-saw. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=J0-1vn6pCyk
dazla
Its a shame that the squirrels are forced into A small enclosure of woodland in a populated area of houses and flats, only to be called tree rats and vermin And they are used in some childish game by brain dead chavs to satisfy there sick needs:rolleyes:
Tricky-Ricky
Vermin is just nature going about it's business. My dad struggled with my opinions on this, if you stick a fenced off enclosure full of tasty baby pheasants in a woodland populated by foxes that have been there for years they will be like chavs flocking to a new McDonalds drive-thru, you can't really blame them. It's the humans that are the real vermin. For once i wholeheartedly agree with you! Just shows how sad and pathetic some people are, people who are entertained by animal cruelty are as bad as paedophiles in my books! and yes i was brought up in the country, and i don't disagree with shooting Pheasants, Pigeons, Rabbits provided you are going to prepare and eat them yourself, and Fox hunting is just plain cruel! zap
Who told you humans were humane? There's far worse happening in the world than flying squirrels. Tip of the iceberg fella, if people have no respect even these small creatures what chance has anything else got.

Pete
I pulled the leg off a spider by accident as I was trying to set it free (out of our living room anyway). Am I akin to an evil Paedo?
dazla
I dont think he meant it like that. People are sick to watch animal cruelty and take part in it and must have some serious issues just like paedophilia.
dazla
Things like organised dog fights and actually beating animals to a pulp is just mentally disturbing. I'd class them as the same to

Yea they are classed as vermin but i dont know why, are they over populating because they are in our way or is it just nature. If you ask me they'r are just doing what they are supposed to do, (survive).
TonyP
Ok. Perhaps someone can help me understand why some people get so worked up in threads like this because I just don't get it. There are no monks being killed, no children being abducted, no innocent people being tortured and murdered or any of the other evil things that seem to happen in this world of ours on a daily basis. It is only a squirrel.
Guigsy
that true. people forget that gray squirels wlthough cute and funny are not native to this country. red squirels however are a different matter and would cirtainly get you thrown in jail. I don't like animals much - but to be honest, I prefer them to children. Is it OK if I use the catapult on some screaming brat and then say "it's only a screaming baby"? IMO its just because animals for the most part at the mercy and whims of humans and in most cases unable to defend themselves from being beaten tortured and killed for entertainment by the very creatures that claim to be so moral, compassionate and intelligent, but that doesn't stop them doing this to each other on a regular basis! animals are mostly just driven by a survival instinct.
