hadyn
Safe as. Ive done the job on my old S14 years ago and was just wondering if there was any particular probs when doing it on a Supra. I feel most assured now lol
RobSheffield
Be gentle when removing the locking ring, and the hanger from the tank aperture (dont want to break any of the senders) removal of old pump takes minutes, soldering and heatshrinking (need to use fuel proof heatshrink)connections takes minutes (unless you cant solder) then refit to the hanger and refit hanger to the car. Always find refitting the locking ring hard to get it started on the thread.

merckx
The large plastic nut can be a right pain to get back on the right thread. I've done it quite a few times before but last time for some reason it just wouldn't go on, it took me half an hour.

SimonB
Not cheap, but worth every penny! Portasol Pro gas sodering iron. http://portasol.co.uk/propiezo.htm I've got a cheapo version from Maplin - had it a few years and it works a treat. Very handy having a gas one, gets nice and hot too so you don't have to hang upside down in the footwell for ages trying to solder things to the ECU loom for example.
