Rory
Is there anything I need to watch out for doing this? Do I need to set a certain gap for the points? Thanks
edge
Points on a supra! Hope not. Its a fairly modern engine. Just take out and swap over. Just make sure you put the leads back on right
Rory
I was suprised it had a distributor, when my 1991 BMW came without one and a coil for each cylinder!
Rory
Well thats the job done Took it a wee run, it now actually feels like it wants to rev cleanly to the red line, I knew it was holding back a bit before ! Parts only cost me £25 as well so N/A owners have a look and see if theres much wear on yours!
JonW
Mine's getting a bit hesitant in places, could this be the reason? Where do I look for wear?

Rory
Jon - thats what mine was like in the higher rev range, it just felt flat and unwilling. Open the dizzy cap, only 3 screws and have a look at the metal contacts inside to see how they are. Look at the end of the rotor arm to see if it looks worn, mine was eroded a few mm in the middle, heres a pic to try to show the rotor wear :
