ivan
Can you imagine working for a company that has just over 500 employees and has the following statistics? 29 have been accused of spouse abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 19 have been accused of writing bad cheques 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year Can you guess which organization this is yet? It's the 535 members of the Houses of Parliament, the same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line! Homer
Was relieved to see that last line - thought it was my team for a moment!

robin
That is truly shocking. I think that if a violent/dangerous criminal offense has been committed they should be let go.

JamesG
84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year Well that one is blatently bollocks, so what chance is there of the other ones being true?
tbourner
And things like being defendants in lawsuits is just because they're in the line of fire for that kind of thing!!! The job they do brings about all kinds of stuff that we might find dirty or wrong. How would you like to work for an organisation where most of the people in it have fired guns at people with the intention of killing them? We call it the army! We call it the army! I don't believe all of those facts are true, but you compariosn is daft. The mp's don't really have to answer to anyone, and should the law be passed (something they decided for themselves) they will be exempt from the freedom of information act. This means we will no longer be able to know how they are spedning our money or how much they are claiming for expenses to get driven to work or their second mortgages etc. Thats seriously wrong in my mind.
