RedM
I'm on week two of a diet. Nothing spectacular. I'm just eating smaller, more nutrious/healthier meals. I've cut all the crap from my diet and seemed to have naturally gravitated back to a vegetarian diet. We don't own scales so I've no idea if I've lost weight or not but I feel less bloated and more alert. Doing more walking too which seems to be helping. Early days..... I'm also doing an evening class learning Japanese. I did a year long course about ten years ago, enjoyed it but cou'dn't afford to continue. I'm starting afresh and enjoying it. Next is the big one. Get a new job.

Pete
Well done! Good luck with it. I too have decided similar to yourself about food earlier today. I even didn't have a pork pie I was offered at lunch. How good am I?! I don't know if it's a winter storing nuts type thing but I can't stop thinking about food at the moment. Bob
Well done, fella I've just started dieting again myself. My apartment has a free gym as well, so I'm up there most nights - did 5km on the rowing machine last night, which is pretty good going for a fat jabba like me I've also subscribed to the Mens Health online personal trainer; works out your excercises for you, logs them, adjusts them, etc.

Bob
Diet's not going too well, mind - we went off to Chili's for dinner last night. Not sure if they have any in the UK, but they're a big tex-mex chain, with massive, unhealthy american sized servings All washed down with a peanut butter banana smoothy

Stratty
Well done mate.... I hope you stick to it. Don't worry about the odd cheat meal, it is what you need to stop the cravings. Try to stick to 1 cheat meal a week though. Thorin
Yeah good on ya Martin, learning Japanese sounds cool too ...In fact, I've been saying it for a while, but I reckon today will have to be the first day of my diet. No sausage, bean & cheese pasty for me at lunch!
Burna
Well done Martin The end results will be worth it. I'm also finding that walking at weekends really energizes me for the week.
AndrewOW
Well done Martin The end results will be worth it. I'm also finding that walking at weekends really energizes me for the week. Also, if you haven't got one, get a dog. Great for some regular walking exercise, especially if you can get 'off road' and into the country/hills. I've been on a better diet, smaller meals, for quite some weeks now, but for some reason I've put on weight! Maybe its the hoofing great Indian meal I have every Sunday Good luck in your endeavour. It'll be worth it

You may find that you are not eating enough. Try to split your daily food intake into 6 proportianate meals. Eat every 2 - 3 hours. This will raise your metabolism. By simply cutting down on your meals, you will send your body into starvation mode and it actually hangs onto fat. Eating 6 times a day and small proportianate meals will help get rid of some pounds....
BigDino
yes good luck with your efforts. I went for an MOT yesterday and got weighed for the first time in 8 years.....101kg about 16 stone, but i did have clothes on then blood pressure which was high:( So i shall be joining you on the road to weight loss and healthier living, and cutting down on the red wine, not sure about the chinese meals yet though.....one step at a time:p

A banana and a peanut Tracker (yummy) around 11am. A pasta salad and a bio yogurt for lunch. A snack (Snickers/eccles cake) about 3, then a light evening meal, say soup, grilled fish or bbq chicken etc. Maybe I'm meant to stay 9 stone (Actually I'm more like 13 stone!) Supragal
Ohhh I love eccles cakes!! Good job Martin, and all diety people actually. I find scales tend to be good for incentive, you won't physically notice a couple of pounds coming off but if your scales prove it it makes it easier to continue, and then they add up to half a stone which you will notice. Good luck

M4RK RZ
Sounds good what your doing mate. Long shot but I have been Thai Boxing for 3 and a half years now - Im fitter, stronger, more alert and more flexible than I have ever been - I can even nearly do the splits now!! I would 100% suggest trying it out - its not like some namby martial art it is very rewarding and physically draining every session. And best of all go with your mates and you get to hit them You can use it as keep fit - or - like myself I have my first show fight coming along soon (inter gym comp)
