RICHARDA
Any good? Me and the wife are thinking of going up there at the end of October for an overnighter, can you stay there or is there anywhere nearby, hotels etc? Many thanks Rich
Class One
AFAIK you can't stay there, but it is worth the visit to the Palace and the gardens. Woodstock would be your best bet for a hotel to stay as it's right by the Palace, or there's a Holiday Inn and Travel Inn (IIRC) about 10 mins away at Peartree which is on the A44 j/w A34 just north of Oxford. razza
I'll give you a tip, phone up and ask about having a wedding there, they'll then show you round the whole palace for free:d save yourself about £16 each or something like that, plus you can drive right up to it and park out the front, and not in the carpark miles away with the peasants:p
neil tt
Now that sounds like a very good idea:cool:

Class One
We had a really nice meet there once didn't we Doug? Aye we did. I also went to the Renault F1 World Championship celebrations there when they won in 2005. Now THAT was something else.

Papercutout
Been there done that (not posing as a couple though). Went to school in Woodstock, so we've been there plenty of times, fun runs etc. Lovely large grounds, MILES of walking if thats what you like. They've got an adventure area, a maze, butterfly house on top of the palace itself, can be good fun if you go with the right person/people. As said, best off staying in Woodstock, it will NOT be cheap though. If you've got an idea what you're doing and where you're going, it'd be cheaper to go for a b&b in a different village. Burna
Great day out, but why didn't we have a meet again there this year? Really enjoyed it last time.

razza
I will point out though that we were actually looking at it as a venue (not the actual main palace but the orangary), she then asked if we wanted to see the rest, which we obliged to:d But alas I'm not a footballer so we didn't go for the main palace:blink: After seeing loads of trust houses etc. for potential venues, I'd use that excuse again if I wanted to go anywhere, bargain:d
