Wez
Hey All, Anyone have any experience with Wilwood brakes? I have been looking through the catalogue and these 6 pot calipers look like they may work with stock sized discs. http://www.wilwood.com/Products/001-Calipers/006-SL6R/index.asp
Chris Wilson
AP, Alcon, or Brembo. Don't dismiss big 4 pot front calipers, either. race pads in UK calipers, on stock discs, will work fine, on a stripped out car, albeit you'll get through a lot of discs and pads. My R33 GTR used to eat a set of AP six pot discs every 2 track days, and same for pads. But it was a full weight jobbie. Wilwood aren't a patch on the "big 3". RobSheffield
Chris, slight off topic but... Brembo 4 pot 'F50' calipers or the new 6 pot monoblock version for the front? (clearly Brembo rear as well to retain braking balance)
Wez
I think the next thing for me to try is your race pads Chris, I might match them up with a set of floating DBA 5000 discs. Any news on the cams?

Chris Wilson
Anyone had any experience with Performance Friction calipers? Yes, I have used their monobloc ones. Very nice, very expensive though, great if it's someone else's money you are spending All PF stuff is top notch.

carl0s
Speaking..... It was you who recommended them Chris but I can't remember if you mentioned any prices or availability. I don't have any track days planned anyway as I'm still shit and Malcolm now lives in Spain ! Maybe a Supra trip to Guadix would be good
Paul Whiffin
They only currently list them for the UK spec Supra, they will be bringing the Jap spec pad shape out early next year though. What brakes have you got Carlos?

Ark
Anyone had any experience with Performance Friction calipers? Not on a Supra, but I know a few people using them on Imprezas, very pleasing results.
Paul Whiffin
I was shocked at the price of a set of carbon discs/calipers/pads, 20k! They want to be good for that money!
Guest 2jzmk3
i have the 6 piston 14.1in brakes on my car. i dont have complaints with them, i dont road race my car so i dont know how they will act, but going in a straight line they work like a charm

What brakes have you got Carlos? UK Spec brakes, luckily. I just seem to remember not seeing them on their price list, or not seeing the rear ones or something. It was the 01-Compound that I was looking for I think.

charleshmlee
Hey I used to have a Wilwood superlite 4 pot for the front, its stopping power is real good comparing to the stock 4 pots. I used a set of feredo pads. However, there were too many clinking sound from the calipers which I found it too annoying to fall back to stock 4 pots.
