Front tow hook

How it should look like? I have suspicion that mine is not complete or something.. I have STOCK front bumper but the hook (front tow eye) seems to be too high.. The tow will definitely touch the bumper. Is it Ok for Supras or I have lost some part? :)

Thanks!

You can use the stock ones if you have a stock front on. Any splitters/aftermarket stuff will disable them. The rear tow hook is not in the greatest of places either.

Im trying to find an aftermarket one that pokes out from under an aftermarket bumper (do luck) but have no where to start :search:

As you can see - the tow eye is even higher than engine protective cover (it's removed in my case).

The rear one is even worse! No way could you use it without writing off the bumper.

Gaz, when I lost the viscous fan (and damaged the rad) at Snetterton earlier this year, I got the RAC guy to pull the car backwards onto the beavertail truck.

With the Bomex front the towing eyes are unusable.

The rear (stock) worked well. The winch cable hardly touched the bumper, but the bumper flexes (and I'm talking just touching, not a real hard contact).

I put a piece of rag round the cable, so no scratches and no damage to the bumper.

For the front, I'm going to make up a tow hitch for track days.

A length of 1" box bolted between the stock towing eyes.

Some form of 'swan neck' dropping down to a threaded towing eye running through a hole in the Bomex.

If you can replace the bumper beam with a stronger cross member, this could be drilled and tapped for a towing eye, the hole for the eye will be behind the front number plate. So front plate off to fit the towing eye.
