Animal
I'm running Tein Super Street suspension which is around 20mm lower than stock and I have no trouble with speed humps, but you do have to crawl over them, probably max. 15mph. If they're the little square ones that sit in the middle of each lane, I always move out so that one set of wheels goes over it squarely so as not to ground anything out. I'll see if I can have a word with the guys in our highways department at work, they'll know about speed humps on private roads.
Homer
Something you posted before made me think you were at college in Gloucester, it's not Hartpury by any chance?

Homer
it is yeah, how u no Got the PM, but may as well anwer here too You mentioned College, Gloucester and horses in one thread a while ago. I just put the 3 together, I was going to ask at the time but must have forgot, but it stuck in memory. I spent a lot of my teens years there getting drunk and chasing the 'horsie' ladies that stayed there The reason I asked was because they've always had monsterous speed humps on the drive up to the college, even my old Cavalier used to bottom out on them - god knows what they've put in now if they're worse! Edit - oh and it's private property so they can pretty much install whatever they feel necessary. However, they must give a warning at the entrance to the property that speed humps are in place. cashpoint
The recommends max height is 100mm, but remember this is "recommended" max height so they can be higher. a longer ramp would mean they can get away with a larger speed bump. Holden1989
these arnt long ramps, there short and steep so leathel, i dont see why theyv had to raise them so much, takes the mick really
Guest DaveWilko
The industrial estate that my work is in has the most hideous humps ever. At least 100mm high, full width of the road, only 10 inches long and perfect dome shape. Heard a Supra making horrible graunching noises with his loverly veilside front bumper going over them. I have no probs with my standard Supe though. Has anyone ever fitted air suspension to a Supra? Can't see it being very practical - all the gubbins would fill the boot

Rob
I don't have a definite answer ...but... given one has to have a legal car when on private ground that is open to the public, i.e. correct numberplates, lighting etc when "croozing" in Tesco's car park, would it be reasonable to assume that the roads within such private grounds have to conform to the same standards as public roads? I've done a lot of design work for Colleges, indeed my old company did Hartpury College I believe, and access roads all have to have the correct setting out radii, gradients, camber etc etc. I'd write or visit to the Estates Office and put across your problem. Holden1989
thanks for that, i may go and talk to them, iv heard from a few other students that they are having trouble so they might even reduce the height, thanks

I would have thought that would apply. I think Doug mentioned on here ages ago that private roads are subject to the same laws as public ones (e.g. you can get done for speeding in Tesco's car park), but I'm not sure if it's the same for regulations as opposed to traffic laws. Supragal
But at a show you don't have to have a road legal car, what is the difference?
Rob
A show, a propAh show, would be indoors at some sort of giant expo hall, where you have to pay to get in. Whereas a cruise being held in a retail park car park is still a public place free for all traffic to access.
