pulse
Yeah, regular unleaded is 83c at my local Shell, Optimax is 7c more expensive. It's up and down all the time, a month or two ago Optimax hit $1.18/L. It also differs massively between cities. Victoria has all the oil platforms (Bass straight) and refineries etc, so it tends to be a fair bit cheaper here than in the other cities. When were you here and where did you go? Regular unleaded is 95 RON, BP/Mobil/Caltex/etc premium unleaded is 97 RON, Optimax is 98 RON. Pretty much the same as the UK.

pulse
Doh, you beat my edit Yeah, the price is.. well, not good, it's still too expensive, but it's better. It used to feel like somebody had kicked me in the balls when I rocked up at a Shell and put nearly 70L of Optimax in at almost a quid a litre, after doing only 180 miles. The Falcon is a LOT more economical (unless you're really using it, but it's still better than the Supra ever was) and has a slightly smaller tank.. but still, the least I've ever got out of a 60L tank is around 350 miles in the Falcon, whereas that's 100 more than my record in the Supra..
