Their's a couple of simple "how tos" on you tube to make it quicker (whether vista or not.) most of it is stopping useless start up programs that appear in the bottom right on the screen and simplifying the appearence (eg getting rid of fancy fade in fade out stuff on windows that you open.) I've now got 4GB and it shuts down in seconds. which version of vista are you running.. Have a look at the in the SYSTEM area on control pannel at your ram.. Bet you it does not say 4GB of ram.... edd_t Posted September 21, 2007 Share Posted September 21, 2007 to speed Vista up use an SD card as virtual memory for the desktop. cant remember wha the techy term is, but it will make stuff happen a hell of a lot faster. especially if you are using he glass effects. Bobbeh Posted September 21, 2007 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Mines slowed down a bit recently too, when browsing, its deffo something to do with the adverts because the bulk of the page loads, and then it waits for a bit while the ads then load up, its like the virus checking/ad blocking software isnt working 100%... it was fine. Bobbeh Posted September 21, 2007 Share Posted September 21, 2007 I agree, but my machine isnt a dog P4 3.2HT with 2G of RAM. I think it'll run a darn sight better on a dual core though.
