The Pink Lady
Hi guys Just a technical question but can you run a nitrous system with a supercharger set up? Why well not sure if a nitrous system is compatable with a rotrex supercharger set up for a 'normaly aspirated' Supra. Thanks (please dont tell me that a TT would be the cheaper option as I am wanting something different and unique other than the UK's first Pink Supra) Thanks Mandy

jagman
I would think you would find it pointless,as a charger would be more than enough-ie very high torque at very low rpm
Ian C
Pointless?! An extra 100bhp from 3k-6k rpm? I think not sir -Ian
JustGav
I looked at the supercharger option, but found it way too much work... However there is a company which makes electric superchargers, kinda like NOS but uses a battery pack instead so no top up's required....but can't be run continously... As far as NOS goes, yeah, not had a problem with it on a NA. Gav

Electric superchargers do exist but they are strictly low-blow jobs for helping weeny, economical engines around with bottom-end torque. They are very different beasts from their belt-driven brothers.
JustGav
http://www.boosthead.com/home.php It is very similar to NOS, but it can do around 12 PSI, which isn't too bad... Suppose it is just a different way of getting a little more grunt.

Suppose it is just a different way of getting a little more grunt. I could probably shift 12psi with my lungs down a straw, but down the 2JZ intake it'd be a very different matter! It's mass airflow (cfm) values you want to be checking out, unless that psi value is for a known volume -Ian
JustGav
Now that has made me giggle today, I can just picture it... Supra going flying past me, with some bloke frantically blowing into a pipe..... *grin* That has cheered me up today
