TooColdToDrive
Sounds good, thanks guys I also checked out the supra forums. A lot of people went on to show that the rumors that ethanol will rot your hoses were just that - rumors. Good to know!
DARETT
The same rumours were said about Methanol. Andy.F a renowned Subaru tuner, went on to test the theory by leaving some fuel parts soaked in a tub of methanol for a pretty long amount of time, and the only effect was that they were alot cleaner at the end of it... James
I've generally used the Sainsburys 97. Sainsburys has always been the cheapest and it's convenient for me There's a Tesco a wee bit further out and it does 99, will have to try it
AndrewOW
There's a Tesco a wee bit further out and it does 99, will have to try it That's all I've ever used since I bought the car in April 2006. Its never been a problem, but then I haven't tried anything else!
Carl_S
Wow so I have been conned by the marketing hype of V-Power, with is in built cleaners. Interesting. But is shell fuel less likely to be dodgy? I remeber that bad fuel scare a while back, don't know if tesco fuel was involved or not, but I think shell fuel was safe. rick001
I have been using 99 RON at my local Tesco in Burton for the past 2 months since they intro'd it and its very good, no issues
Alex
There is no evidence of the long term effects of using any of these fuels. Marginal power gains are not as important as longevity of the engine. I would recommend everyone uses a premium fuel every few fill ups to clean the engine as I doubt the supermarket fuels are particularly good at this. Texaco's SUL is the best "cleaner" out there followed by VPower...

Carl_S
I'll stick with Vpower then. Feels so good, always did. Cheers Alex.
