Stevo
Hey all, Just wondering - what documents (as a minimum) should I expect to see if I'm buying an NA? Not a fresh import or anything, its just a private sale. But is there anything I should be suspicious of if its missing or he doesn't have? Cheers

Stevo
So, I can obviously expect all the usual V5, MOT docs as per any car, how important are the import docs though?
stevie_b
Original import docs are not that important if the car's been in this country for a few years. If they're present then it's a good sign of a careful owner, but don't be put off if they're not. All the normal docs should be present: V5, MOT etc. Usual checks should be carried out. turbonut
Try and find out about last services, when and what was done and if its had a cambelt change when it should - I think its should be after 60,000 miles but someone else here should confirm that. Its a pricey job but important. You can check the mileage if your suspicious or just want to be sure it wasnt clocked between its leaving japan and getting here, even if it was a few years ago. It might not have had the coversion to mph from kph, worth checking this too. wouldnt hurt to give it a service pretty soon just to be on the safe side - oils and sparks and get the suspension checked, depending how particular you are but best to be certain I had a good amount of docs even though it had only been over here for 2 years but I know someone locally who had nothing but a manual!!! Good luck with your search, sorry response so long winded! btw, buying a supra off someone here is a good idea cause we're all nuts about our supra's and you should get a good 'un linda

Guigsy
Its NOT a fresh import so it should have a log book. Mine wasnt a fresh import and doesnt have one I think he means its someone selling the car in england and it was an import origonaly (had to be being an NA)
