Wez
This use to be a great show, not been for a couple for years though.
Pete
I've found it's not been so good the last couple of years with stalls dwindling a little. Nothing can live up to Stoneleigh.
Wez
Do they still open the track up or is it just an exhibition?
Pete
Do they still open the track up or is it just an exhibition? I read something about it being double booked and someone else having the track. Part of the track is available for manufacturer demonstrators, but no clubs this year apparently. Darren
Nothing can live up to Stoneleigh. I used to go to Stoneleigh Kit Car show with my Dad great day out.
Pete
Well, I woke up at 0800 and found the sun shining and couldn't resist a blat in the Tiger to the show. As I predicted it's got even smaller than last year, it was in the main hall but there were plenty of stands empty and not many visitors. If it wasn't for the sunshine and club members turning up with their cars it would've been a very poor show. Quite a contrast to 4 years ago when you'd queue all through the town to get in and spend hours looking at the stands. Maybe the Total Kit Car Live events have diluted it? Not been to one of those yet.

VIL
Pete, perhaps your the man to ask. I have for a while been mulling over a kit car (already built), something like a Tiger, DAX or something similar. Obviously your a fan, what are the realities though, is it a great fun car to have for sunny weekends or do you spend most of the time fixing and tinkering with them? I love the idea of one but am worried the reality might be quite different?
Pete
Since I built it I've had to do very little to it at all. I refurbed everything or bought new when building. Some enthusiasts can while away the weekends making everything perfect of course, but I've got a Supra to think about too! I don't get as many nice days to drive it as I'd like, but generally I just roll it in and out of the garage. Dax/Westfield/Caterham are nice. MK and Tiger are mid range, Robin Hood / Locost bottom of the barrel..
