It's LCD though.

I'm currently thinking of buying one of the £650 42" 100Hz LG plasma ones that Gav mentioned the other day, and moving my 37" JVC LCD to the computer room. Mainly because the LCD is shit for stuff with lots of movement on-screen, like footy, or any sport really.

I wouldn't have another LCD TV

Hahaha, yeah, was just going to say...

My LG was only £639 (originally £842 but Curry's honoured the price match with Dixon's without any issue)... it has a few more inputs and the picture quality is awesome.

Just quick question on your LG - how does it cope with fast moving images like footy and console games??

The one thing that I want to make sure when making that purchase is that the picture is nice and stable for my games playing :)

We have a 40" rear projector at the mo which is great for my games, (time for upgrade soon as it's having a few niggly problems).

For the PC I have a Dell widescreen LCD, and I do find it struggles with fast moving images.

It isn't LCD it is plasma. I recently got Gone in 60 seconds in 720p HD and it is absolutely awesome, copes with the chase scenes without any issues. Watched touring cars the other night and it is spot on for it as well. No ghosting or image tearing.

Use the plasma with the wii and the ps2 and there hasn't been any issues yet either (Running Wii at 480p)

Like most people, I've read up on the Plasma v LCD war and it just does my bl*%dy head in

Still, it does sound like the Plasma has the edge if it's as good as you say. The Wii must be a darn clear & stable picture in 480p as it normaly runs much lower (well 480i, which mine is in).

Think I may have to join the LG club soon then :p

Cheers.

One thing to check out if you can, the Bravia brand label has been passed to Beko (bugdet/entry level manufacturer) so people think they are buying something decent when they are probably not.

Pixmania are doing a 42inch LCD by ACER for £527 delivered, got good feedback. Not seen this unit but I have a few ACER devices and they are great.

I bought an AOC 32 inch LCD a couple of weeks ago, the picture is superb and outperforms my bro's samsung. Available from bigpockets for £344.
