dannysupratt
Hi guys im looking to go BPU on my facelift jap 6 speed TT it is completely stock bar a cat back HKS hi power exhaust and pulled 310 bhp on the rollers. I was going to get . both decats . boost controller set to 1.2 bar . fcd . 1.2 bar restrictor rings . plugs . fuel pump Just a few questions. Can i keep the standard intercooler? (it looks like new) How much power will i gain ish? What plugs do i need? Will a walbro fuel pump be ok? I have seen both decat pipes on whifbits for about £200 but they are only 2.5" bore will they be ok, or will i gain more power from a 3" bore? Thanks everyone. merckx
You should really fit a restrictor ring do give you somewhere in the region of 1.0 bar and then increase it up to 1.2 bar with a boost controller. If you fit a 1.2 bar restrictor ring and if the boost goes slightly higher you cannot reduce it with a boost controller. A boost controller can be only used to increase boost and not decrease it. You'll need to fit a boost gauge too if you haven't already got one, so you'll be able to keep a check on boost levels. Can i keep the standard intercooler? (it looks like new) Yes. How much power will i gain ish? 60 bhp? It's debatable. What plugs do i need? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41927 I use NGK - BKR7E (6097) - gap 0.7mm , cheap and they work. You can buy more expensive ones too, again it's debatable which ones are best. Will a walbro fuel pump be ok? Yes, the Walbro 342. I have seen both decat pipes on whifbits for about £200 but they are only 2.5" bore will they be ok, or will i gain more power from a 3" bore? The 2.5" ones are all you need.
