PJ
I'm absolutely livid, I can't believe what this total twat of a traffic warden has done! Warden A27 seems to have totally overlooked the fact that my car is parked up in my own street, outside my property, correctly displaying a parking permit that is valid in my street until Jan 2008. Mr A27 has kindly ignored this fact and slapped me with a parking ticket for reason 30F :- Parked for longer than allowed There is a three hour limit for non-residents not displaying permits like mine. So now I'm going to have to waste my time tomorrow going into the parking office to kick off about this and then more than likely have to appeal the ticket in writing to get it rescinded due to this knob jockeys over enthusiasm. To make matters worse there are cars that are parked illegally in the street and have been for days, one without any road tax, that don't have tickets on them, just my Aristo which is parked legally and displaying my permit correctly. FFS!!! I bet this traffic wardens one of the new bloody foreigners that they've got in to do the job that can hardly speak a word of English. I am rather annoyed. PJ
Well it was a total waste of time going in. They were less than helpful and basically insinuated that it was my fault as my permit musn't have been showing for the warden to issue a ticket, even though it is in plain view and has been that way for the past year or so. They wouldn't look up the car and basically told me to go away and put it in writing to appeal the ticket and that if I was unsucesful the fine would be £30 as I'd come in the day after it was issued. I have a strange feeling that this is not going to be the end of this. If there's another ticket on it when I get home from work I'm going to flip!! I have always said that if I was ever terminally ill, before I died I take a few of these fookers with me. I can't imagine a job where you could be more hated and despised by the general public. The are always social outcasts with no personality and no sense of reasonable judgement. Some even seem to enjoy the fact that they annoy others!! I have only ever had one ticket but have made up for it by abusing TW's all over the place..... Who the fook applies for a shitty job like that!! Coonts! H. SupraGirlie
Isn't it a commision based job? The more tickets they give the more they make? I imagine they make quite a bit.

No it isn't commission based... but they do have targets that they're expected to meet.

snake
In bristol they block the ferking road up to tow away a car thats not in the way, I could understand if it was causing a problem. They appear like vultures stopping on double yellow lines to let the wardens out so they can do there very important jobs[earning vast revenue for the council] The idea behind it is to aid traffic flow at peak times, what a load of bollox, all it does is put local shops out of buisiness as no one can stop there going to or from work without the risk of a ticket. Apparently they take a photo of the car now before they lift it due to claims for damage.

Chris Wilson
As my father in law says to them, no self respecting human being would do a job like theirs, they are beyond contempt I have plans for them in my dream of the master race
SupraGirlie
Yeah I definatly saw something about commision, there was a programme called trafic wardens or something where cameras follow them about etc, maybe I'm getting confused with targets then Thorin I think you're right lol
MrRalphMan
Not seen in the best of light are they, I wish there were more down my way to sort the tossers who park on the Zigzags of the local Ped Crossing, to pop in the shops.

Guigsy
I used to live in a permit area. all the marked spaces were permit only... Apart from 2 that were 1 hour only no return within 2 hours. One day the road was full apart from one of those spaces. so i parked in it thinking it was a permit space... I come out the next morning... got a ticket. Not a bloody think i could do about it ether
Jake
I don't see why there's all this hatred for traffic wardens. If they do their job properly I think they're a good thing. It's the arrogant buggers who think they can park where they like, obstructing the road and other road users, that annoy me. It can't be a fun job (although I bet it has its moments) but somebody has got to do it.
PJ
My hatred comes from being ticketed for absolutely no bloody reason at all, then having to jump through hoops because of their mistake and being made to feel like it was something that was my fault, which it wasn't. This is just an example of being over eager to dish out as many tickets to people as possible, or at least that's what it looks like, and now, through no fault of my own I have to go through an appeal process. Tossers.
hogmaw
Surely you can appeal by pointing out their mistake by writing a simple (and polite) letter? I have done this several times in the past when the ticket was wrongly issued, and got off with no further problems. IF you are in the right, then there should be no problem, yes? PJ
Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing, but what grates on my nerves is the fact that none of this is my fault and I'm now wasting time going down this route. I hate having things like this over my head as I just don't trust any local government offices to sort anything out as anytime I have ever had to deal with them in the past it's turned into a fiasco. I've filled in an appeal form there and then and handed it in as I don't see why I should pay for postage etc for something that is not my fault. The form was filled in correctly, politely pointing out that the ticket should never have been issued as I was parked up outside my flat displaying a valid permit for that street, a permit that is valid until 2008.
