You're missing a vital point or 2.

WMSC made up of mainly Ferrari people.

Ferrari have been caught cheating numerous times and not punished.

Intellectual Property moves about all the time as people change jobs between teams. Frank Williams said about this this week.

NOTHING HAS BEEN PROVED...the FIA have admitted that!

Ferrari Engineer gave the info away, which led to Ferrari's car being proven to breaking the rules again.

Ferrari engineer should have been dealt with internally by Ferrari, instead Ferrari went crying to the press.

McLarens car was faster from preseason testing...why go backwards?! No doubt they could have learned a bit more about the suspension kinematic's due to the shift to Bridgestones, but then Bridgestone should have supplied all the teams with that so that they were all on a level playing field! Something Ferrari hate.

etc etc

No team is whiter than white....but Ferrari is so dirty...

Interesting quote from the press conference.

We are also continually asked if McLaren didn't use the information, what was the reason for Stepney and Coughlan collecting all this data about Ferrari?

We can only speculate as neither Coughlan nor Stepney gave evidence at today's hearing, but we do know that they were both seeking employment with other teams, as already confirmed by both Honda and Toyota

only certain people can afford Ferrari's :

Ferrari as a brand USED to be exclusive, but now with everywhere you go you can buy Ferrari branded crap such as trainers and aftershave etc. they are interested in commerical returns as much as the next man Im afriad.

Ferrari now as a brand doesn't even hold a candle to the likes of Lambo's, Zonda's etc etc

I think all the teams should withdraw. The whole thing is a shambles, a charade. Ferrari have ruined it for everyone. This years championship is now worthless, whoever wins it whether it be a Ferrari or McLaren driver, their win will be tainted.

I expect no-one wants to win it now. What a crock of shite. :(

No I think you'll find Ferrari want to win it, at any cost, no matter how tarnished it is.

Ferrari cheats, gets told to change things.

Gets the whistleblower sacked and dragged through the courts. Everyone said whistleblower touches gets ripped to shreds ie McLaren.

Michelin run the same tyre for 3 years...Ferrari on Bridgestones get the FIA to rule the Michelin tyre when the Michelin runners start to beat Ferrari.

Mass Dampers run by Renault...Ferrari bitch, cause Renault are winning.

Ferrari have broken the rules so many times it's untrue...yet they just get quietly asked to stop...

EDIT forgot the barge board incident - Schumi/Fezza won both titles with illegal barge boards, when it was decided that they were illegal, no action was taken to strip them of points...DOUBLE FOOKIN STANDARDS.

Ferrari have already aid it doesn't matter how they win as long as they do: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/62275

and that they are satisfied with McLarens punishment: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/62315

The cheating eyetie barstards.

And what has this got to do with buying cars?

you mean every british fan, so they would endorse cheating? which is obviously the case hence the penalty, whether it was Stepney's doing or not, fact is no other team has been seen to hold a technical dossier of anothers team specs,

Yes they have. Toyota were seen to have other ferrari documents a couple of years ago. It was sorted in the civil courts.

whether or not they all have people taking photos of other cars etc, i do agree though that the "sport" is a farce, but i doubt that is entirely Ferrari's fault, as i said before more likely the car manufacturers fault, hence Ferrari's anger towards many of them, they have only ever built race cars, not diesel estates, trucks, vans etc, etc

Rubbish! At the level where these decisions are made, those kind of politics don't come into it. For example Adrian Newey at Red Bull wouldn't have anything to do with the companies other divisions. Same deal here at Spyker.

Ferrari want to win as much as McLaren or anyone else.

I hope it's a wake up call, or F1 will follow Nascar with an A4 sheet of the latest cheats and derisory fines each month in Racecar Engineering, but the cheating and "racing" continue unscathed. Cheating's rife, from Athletics (what chance the next Olympics not having the usual drug scandals), through cycling, and now to the previously fairly clean F1. Personally I think they should have banned McClaren from the rest of the years championship, as well as made sure the perpetrators never worked in F1 again. And that's from someone who is an Alonso fan :)

They've banned McLaren from scoring any points or appearing on the podium.

By banning them from racing full stop no one wins - not even Ferrari.

And what about Ferrari's first race of the season, won with an illegal car...shouldn't they have those results stripped too...oh and Renaults with it's Mass Damper...you should take away Alsono's 2x WDC's as that car was later deemed illegal....and then Schui's barge boards that were illegal etc etc...

Mclaren hasn't *yet* even been proved to have USED the data other than to point out how Ferrari are cheating.

I'm going to eat *some* humble pie....but not a lot. McLaren's Spanish duo are truely inept if this is all correct. And Coughlan et al have lied when they really should divulged more. The text of the e-mails reads stupidly...I mean didn't Alonso know who the chief designer was?? Why would Pedro write it like that?? Bizarre, it's like hey look at me I'm trying to cheat!

But the punishment does not fit the crime.

That evidence was from pre season...so I doubt it. But it does shed some lght on Alonso's "I brought the team .5 of a second" comment when he was throwing his toys out of the pram for not being the number 1...

Maybe he should have kept his toys in the pram ;)

It does look like some people have been largely stupid.

But it's not like anyone else isn't cheating, Ferrari just manage to always get away with it.
