jim_supra
Quote from Sky news about the ban; ''it remains unclear whether this means the drivers' and/or constructors' championship'' I'm hoping it's just the Constructors for Hamiltons and Alonso's sake. SatSport
from Sky sports....http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12479_2726659,00.html McLaren have reportedly been excluded from the 2007 and 2008 Formula One World Championships. According to http://www.planetf1.com, the Woking team, who faced the FIA's World Motor Sport Council for the second time in Paris on Thursday after new evidence came to light, were found guilty of using Ferrari technical information in this year's championship. The WMSC have apparently proposed that McLaren be excluded from this year and next year's World Championships - although it remains unclear whether this means the drivers' and/or constructors' championship. If the former proves to be the case, then the sanction will mean that Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, currently first and second in the drivers' championship, will have their points totals wiped. colsoop
If this proves to be true (both championship and constructors )then that is it for me watching F1. Imagine watching next years championship getting in to it for the same thing to happen it takes all the fun out of it for me. I am sick to death of results being decided by Lawyers. They really do shoot themselves in the foot sometimes don't they
Guest Nicholas
lol despite the fact that Hamilton drives for McLaren are we all forgetting they had a full ferrari technical dossier in their possession?!?!?! I think a ban is appropiate.

Guest Nicholas
For the constructors championship - yes i agree. hmmm I'm not so sure I think the team deserves a ban of some sort not just the loss of constuctors championship points. If that affects the drivers championship then so be it, Mclaren should have thought about that before taking a copy of the dossier.

tooquicktostop
Would they have to compensate ITV because who is going to watch it now?? may as well give it up now for this year ?

dr_blackman
BBC news just said they have been fined 100million and lost all the constructors points, lewis still has his points.... it will be a continueing storey for sure lol with appeals etc! ivan
is what I just heard too. $100 million FFS! And losing all the constructors points (meaning Ferrari get the championship by dirty tactics) It stinks BIG time. Bloody Ferrari rule this "sport" and everyone just seems to bow down and accept whatever they say. That's it as far as I'm concerned - I hope McLaren stuff it to them big time for the rest of the season!
Gazboy
Fuck me!!! I assume LH & FA can still score points even though their totals haven't been nulled?
paul_y3k
ok so what was that extra piece of evidence, and I'm guessing Ferrari fabricated it in the last cpl of weeks to stuff up Macca

Gazboy
Where does all that money go then? To the FIA, probably to be squandered by Max Mosley. Shame Dennis didn't headbutt him.
