MrDriver
Hi all, As I am commuting by train lately, and since I like to read horror novels, what books do you recommend? I'm a big fan of Stephen King. But tbh don't know much other writers. Just finished Desperation, now I'm reading From A Buick 8. Desperation was ace - Peter -
TonyP
Hi I'm also a huge Stephen King fan. Have you read the Dark Tower series. It's really not like any of his normal stuff but is really good. I also like Clive Barker. Start with Weaveworld and The Books of Blood and go from there. Some of his books are hard work but worth it. Tony

bmx1lew
Dark Tower series/The gun slinger... all i can say is amazing! the first 2 books are a bit of a hard read as you find he needs to give far too much detail to explain a simple scene which i felt diverted my mind away from what he wanted his readers to visualize however he admit's this as he wrote them when young so he was cocky and thought he could do any thing, there is 7 books in the series, when you get half way through the last book Stephen king will stop you and tell you not to read on because he want's you to remember the books as a journey with no end, if you read the end apparently you will be disappoint, not that the end is crap but disappointed that you have put a end to all you have read... i haven't gotten that far but my mate andy has finished them and tell's any one who reads them not to finish them! apart from that i love Jeffery dever book's he is one of my favorite writer's, his writing style is simple yet highly gripping, he doesn't go into to much details on a scene yet you can visualize every thing, any book by him once you pick it up you will not want to put it down, he wrote the bone collector , i recommend The blue nowhere, it's a filler, about a hacker playing a game with peoples live's... so good WB are going to make it into a movie! the devil's tear drop. also some Robert ranking books like The hollow chocolate bunnies of apocalypse and toyminator you will definetly enjoy them. JustGav
Most Michael Crichton's are pretty good.. Even things like Jurassic Park and the lot (Put the movie to shame really) I can also recommend Contact (Carl Sagan), probably my favourite film and book.
