RedM
Homer, I should just mention that the Moosewood book although healthy is mostly vegetarian. HOWEVER, don't be put off by that. If you are stuggling to find healthy, meat based dishes then it can make a pleasant change having a veggie meal. It opens up your choices so you aren't stuck with the same meals day in, day out. colsoop
Col, thats some seriously impressive weight loss, well done! From my previous workout (before I got ill), I have a good weights bench and lots of free weights (500+kg). However I'm holding off on lifting for now since I really want to get rid of the fat first. Once it's down (perhaps another 20-30 pounds to go), I'll start lifting again. Thanks again for the link. Apparently I need 2600 kcals a day to maintain my current weight, I'm now burning 500 kcals a day with exercise and taking in around 1700kcals, so confirms the diet is generally on track. Sounds like a good plan, you may find as i did that after a while your body willa djust to the lower calorie intake and your weight loss will be much harder to come by, This is the time to start upping the excercise so that you are burning more than you are consuming. The trigger point for me was at 11.5 stone. The last 2 stone was hard graft to shift as it was mainly gym work to shift it, the upside was i was very fit by the end of it all
tbourner
You're right, I don't like the sound of it - but know you're absolutely correct Unfortunately my job involves being sat in front of a computer and am on the telephone for at least 6 hours a day, often on more than one call at a time. I work from home, which is nice, but it's near impossible to leave my desk during work hours. I really struggle to get time to eat (my biggest problem before was I'd eat breakfast then not eat again until late evening). You have to try and give yourself breaks during the day, just ignore the next phone call after 10:00, until 10:20, go for a walk or something. Then the same at 12:30, go and do some food, maybe some pressups or a stretching routine AWAY from the office. I understand it'll be difficult, especially as it's all money that you're effectively not getting when you're not on the phone - but your health MUST come first surely? Stonkin
Hey Darryl, sounds like you working hard at this mate Feel free to give any of your bulk to me, although i dont want any fat. I've been doing ok lately with training, turning point for me, was when i introduced Creatine into my supplements in April. I've gained 1 1/4 stone since then. Everyone seems to go through good and bad phases at the gym, you either get ill, injured or just to busy. But for once have managed to train about 6 times a week in last 6 months. Although sadly in the last 2 months there is 1 question i am being constantly asked by work colleagues, friends, gym friends, gym staff and that is 'your not taking steroids are you?' Find it hugely frustrating when you know its hard work. After a chat with someone the other night have decided to take that comment as a compliment from anyone now on. But anyway, cant advise you hugely Darryl as ive been lucky to never need a diet, but you seem to have it all on track, so just stick with it mate. Sounds liek i wont recognise you by the time we next meet
