Bob
wz? tyres wz m'wheels, innit. i have heard that certain Toyos from afar (think it was Korea) are made of a much harder compound - so they last longer but have about as much grip as the alloy itself. AJI
spoke to him again last night and the brand was Federal. I know, not one of the best by a long margin; I questioned him why he went for that brand, and again he told me that he is no tyre expert and simply went via the description given on the website. (Which is fair enough I think). I was thinking that the following quote from Marbleapple was something that will interest him. And I thought similar myself that something like this should exist. The relevant legislation is the Sales of Goods Act which deals with items sold via description. If an item is sold as 'super dooper' then under the SGA the tyres should be as such. Sections 12-16 cover all you need to know. Just also want to re-itterate that this guy is no speed freak, I don't think it was a speed related issue. So its either the tyres or something on the road. I also questioned him about what was on the road and he told me that it was just plain and simple wet, nothing else. He followed a car round the same corner which experienced no problems, so he puts it down to the tyres being fully to blame. I then questioned the tyre pressures etc. but he had them checked after the incident and they were ok. But, I think he's now got enough information to proceed. Marbleapple's comment should prove useful, so I will pass that over to him and let him get on with it. Cheers.
