chrisavila100
Ok well after phoning around lots of insurance companys ive got some good quotes.. but only one of them will offer an agreed value policy:search: Now the agreed part of the policy will be agreed AFTER ive taken out the policy, ie once paid up i will then have to send 6 photos and some recipts, and ONLY then will they tell me what they will agree the cars value at! Im a bit worried at that point, they already have my business, so could agree a value alot less than what im thinking!! So what would you lot do on here? do you think its worth the extra cash going for the agreed value policy? Im 30, max ncb, work on licenced premises, car parked in private car park, ALL mods declared! these are the quotes.. Aquote £1100 Adrian flux £860 Green light £772 Swinton £750 HIC £680-AGREED VALUE Noel Dazely £625- current insurance Sky £551.... Now would you go with sky (cheapest) or HIC and hope they agree the value at around 13/14k? Cheers for any advice and past experience with agreed value policys!! DaveK
Isn't this usually the case? Neither of my cars are on agreed value at the moment, but the Porsche was a few years ago. And I had to send photos to back that up - I didn't have any problems at the time.

chrisavila100
Hi guys ive tried lancaster, and they would not quote me due to the mods! Im thinking it will proberly be best to go with HIC! even if they agree a value less than what im hoping for, its still agreed! But im tempted with the very cheap quote from sky! But as we all know, you get what you pay for... does this still stand true for car insurance:search: Cheers guys..

Lukeyboy2k
Why would you go with HIC rather than Sky - when Sky are cheaper, they are the club insurer and they do agreed value? I believe SKY no longer offer agreed valuation to new customers. Chris, I know your car is rare (UK 6 speed), in very nice condition and is worth £13-14K to you (and probably many other members on here), but I think you'd be fortunate to negotiate that much as an agreed value. Having said that, the HIC quote is not a huge amount more than SKY, so I'd probably give it a go. I reckon you could probably get an agreed value of £10K+ which is way more than any of the other companies would give you if the worst happened. Good luck. Cheers mate, i agree with the value bit, im sure to find a like for like replacement, i would be looking at around 12/13k! So even if its agreed at 10/11k thats much better than the insurance company telling me the book/market value is 5k Think its well worth the extra £120! Cheers for the advice guys.. P.s Sky told me that maybe in the new year they will start to offer agreed value policys again...
Safely Insured
We are working to get the agreed value policies back, as mentioned this should be back in the near future. What we can offer (and not many other companies do this) is like for like cover on your modifications. If you are an existing customer we will still offer the agreed value policy. Hope that helps regards Ollie
