razza
I was dropping the missus off this morning, got to the roundabout by primark, coming up from A329, lorry in right hand lane going nowhere as no-one letting him out. A 4x4 squeezed through and went off left, so I started to go through as well, then the f#@ker drives off without looking in his mirrors, turning round the roundabout with his rear end scraping down the side of my car!!!! I get on the horn quick time, but he does nothing apart from drive off..... I tried to chase him but lost him due to traffic lights, It was a big old truck, container on the back like you see at the docks. I called the old bill but doubt they'll do anything, got to go down the station later and unless they find him, it'll cost me £100 excess as it's a courtesy car, as mine's in GVN getting some work done. well pi$$ed off!!!! at least it wasn't the supra.... Guest Chumpalot
Sorry to hear that mate Did you manage to get the registration?
razza
yeah, gave that to the old bill whilst I was trying to catch him, but too much rush hour traffic and lights meant I lost sight of him, had a check round the local industrial estates but couldn't find him , just as well really otherwsie I'd have ripped him a new arse, and I'd be the one in trouble:rolleyes:
RobSheffield
Could have been worse, like you say could have been the Supra.
TrickTT
So you sneaked up the inside of an artic on an island. Not very clever was it. If he was turning he probably coudn't see you in his mirror. Did you not consider that a 50ft long 8 1/2 ft wide vehicle that bends in the middle might need more room to turn that a little car. Hope the 4 seconds you saved was worth it.

Matt H
A 4x4 squeezed through and went off left, so I started to go through as well Lol, i like that bit, so it was actually partly your fault?
hogmaw
come on give the boy a break we have all 'squeezed though' to save a second or two.
Matt H
come on give the boy a break we have all 'squeezed though' to save a second or two. no i totally agree, but you cant get too annoyed at something which is partically your fault
razza
yes, it was partly my fault as I went up the inside, however that doesn't then give him the right to leave the scene of an accident without exchanging details. I've calmed down a bit since earlier, was hacked off about the whole situation, as I also felt pissed off that I'd tried to squeeze through.... And he could see me though as I could see him in his mirror, and the sound of my horn going for 30 secs should definately have alerted him to me. I'm off to the police station now... Thanks mate, we all make mistakes...like none of the rest of you ever had??? was probably still in shock when ranting this morning from having something like that grating down the side of the car, not a pretty sight to see out the window about 30cms away.... Guest Chumpalot
What if he didn't feel the impact thus being totally unaware he hit you/you hit him/whoever hit who?
colsoop
They have huge blind spots especially on roundabouts at slow speed if he was fully laden too i expect he didn't even feel it if it was a light scrape rather than an impact. It bad luck though, but at least it wasn't the Supra
razza
What if he didn't feel the impact thus being totally unaware he hit you/you hit him/whoever hit who? probably didn't feel the impact, but would've heard me and seen me virtually under his wheel... razza
It bad luck though, but at least it wasn't the Supra so glad it wasn't, especially if it was after I'd got it back from GVN. To be honest I probably wouldn't have gone through there in the supe, so subconsciously probably knew it was a daft thing to do...
razza
plus the supe was wider so it wouldn't have gone anyway
Chewie
probably didn't feel the impact, but would've heard me and seen me virtually under his wheel... I doubt even that. There's currently a court case on the front page of the local Cheltenham newspaper where a lorry driver pulled out of a side road and ran right over a motorcyclist and carried on. He never saw or heard him but strangley did see the lorry that was following the biker. The lorry driver claims he's guilty.
