DaveK
Didn't really respect the red line did he? I nearly bought an RX7 years ago - instead of the TT Supra I bought. At the time, the import scene was nothing like it is now, and TT Supras were all over £20K - they tended to start about £22-23K and that was more than I wanted to spend. I looked at RX7s / 3000GT's and they were all crap (compared to their ads). However - I went to see one RX7 from a dealer who was just getting started (had moved over from NZ) and it was exactly as described. It mis-fired on the test drive - he said he'd sort it, and we agreed a deal (car was £20K, top of my budget). Then I called a Mazda dealer - who told me they were fantastic cars but destroyed their engines every 45k miles. So I called the dealer and said I'd changed my mind. He said - no problem, but I've got a black 6 speed TT that's already on the boat on it's way over. You can have that for the same money if you want. Was a lovely car - and at the time, was the deal of the century. Wish I could remember the reg to see if somebody on here owns it.
