Guest pemtek
:taped:Just a quick note for people silly enough to buy an intake pipe and filter for a supra from ebay... like me Oh well Anyway the filter seems pretty decent as my car acheived 420rwhp on chip wizards dyno last week but was being a royal pain in the arse on occasional runs and driving when pulling past 1 bar of boost. It would suddenly die and loose all boost but returning to normal on re-application of the throttle. It only did this once it was really warm and since found that it is the supplied flexible hose sections that just are not up to the job espcially when warm... The pipe gets sucked almost completely flat GRR Well its fixed now by shoving the pipes in further until my proper silicone replacements arrive.. Guest pemtek
Hi its a UK TT auto with a full decat, colder plugs, big FMIC, boost controller set to 1.2 bar and running aproximately 7% methanol in tesco 99 ron to help correct the over rich fuel mixture and get the octane up a little. Off to place an add in the wanted section, stock twins wanted Only joking mate and welcome to the forum, did you get a dyno graph by any chance ? Guest pemtek
It is what the dyno said and it normally is pretty accurate as far as I am aware. I am not saying it is 420bhp but the dyno did on the day repeatably between 390 and 420 run after run. who knows ..

Cool! So allowing for automatic transmission losses that's about 530-560 flywheel BHP then?
Guest pemtek
I dont have one because I was using the dyno myself and didnt know how to print or delete each graph as I went. I will get one in the next few weeks, I am often there.
Guest pemtek
Hi Jake, it said it was making 518bhp at the flywheel but i didnt quote that because i didnt believe the 98bhp loss through the box.

Jake
Hi Jake, it said it was making 518bhp at the flywheel but i didnt quote that because i didnt believe the 98bhp loss through the box.I think people allow between 20 and 25% transmission loss for an auto. JustGav
No way will 1.2 bar give you that much power on UKs... I've seen UK's run 404bhp (calculated fwhp) on SRR (UK 6spd Manual), and I believe that was at 1.4 bar...
Guest pemtek
All I can say is I will run it again in a few weeks and in the mean time check my boost gauge against another to see if im killing my turbos.
