If you remove the IDA (in-direct access) code then you will be routed to where the number sits right now. This is bad for 2 reasons: 1) The number could be moved without warning to the public, in which case you have a dead number. This means that You'll have to resolve the number again. This happens a lot with services such as CPS (carrier pre-select). 2) The number may actually be routing cheaper than if CPS or IDA was used. It might route to India or Spain or something and the UK number makes it cheaper.
