missed out on the old thread by a month, so.........

Because my first name is Edd, and my surname starts with T! haha.

What I want to know is why certain people have their avatars and keep them. Like Michael who has always had the bling meter, and Chalotte with her be'atch, and me with Sonic.

Because I like to remind myself of the other car I have which doesn't get seen very often stuck in the garage.

People tend to keep them as the association of imagery is stronger than the text and people like to retain their identity. I guess?

That's just the avatar I use here, I get confused when people change them all the time.

I get even more confused when people on other forums use "my" avatar.

Having said this I do change my avatar on a regular basis elsewhere.

My flat mates in my final year of university went on a BUNAC summer camp thing in America (I didn't go for various reasons), whilst they were there the guy in charge of the camp used to bully a few workers there and used to call one of them "monkeyboy" (imagine it in a redneck type accent). Upon my flatmates' return to the UK they used to use the "monkeyboy" insult in a tongue in cheek kind of way at every opportunity to anyone they could. When used on me "monkeyboy" evolved into "Lukeyboy" (my name is Luke  ). At a similar time I signed up for my first email account and tried to use "Lukeyboy". This was however, predictably already taken. We were approaching the new millenium so I tried "Lukeyboy2000" - this was already taken also, so the 2000 became "2K". I then registered as "Lukeyboy2K". This has now become my internet name and I normally try to use it for any site I sign up for.

As for my avatar, she's my future wife. Sometimes I think about changing it, but it cheers me up every time I see it. :)
