JustGav
If you are planning on pushing the engine, some pistons and rods might not go amiss... EDIT : Just spotted you have already got the uprated rods...
Alex
Try them out...but you may find the 272's are a bit wild and leave you lacking a bit of lowdown-midrange pull. 650cc injectors should just about cope, but 720's will be more comfortable. I am a little worried that I am getting to the higher end of the duty with the 650's, would the 720's in the standard rail do or go for an aftermarket rail ? will give the 272's a try, if not go back to 264's
michel lane
i would get rid of the 272 cams , tell him to open the engine up and see what type of bolts / rods they are and while you are there put in a set of forged pistons. Change your gasket and oil pump aswell. You dont know how long the engine has been sat there. change the crank seals . Put a decent rail in , get yourself a HKS rail and drop some 650 or 880cc injectors in . use kavlar belts. thats my thoughts ..... and hell what do i know about these things ... Alex
Michel, Terry and therefore probably Mark, knows what was put in the engine without cracking it open. It worked fine when it was last used. Dean, I'd get a top feed rail (HKS, BL, PHR) and some RC Eng or Siemens 700-800cc injectors. Not sure if you need a resistor pack if you have an AEM, I believe it can cope with either lo or hi impedance injectors.
tooquicktostop
Ok so a fuel rail and bigger injectors needed, will order tomorrow, I have asked Mark to fit a new oil and water pump as well while we are at it
tooquicktostop
Purchased 800cc injectors with HKS fuel rail and braided lines today, along with my FPR, twin pumps and new fuel filter fuelling should be sorted now, so what next if anything ? Jake
Nice spec. If it was me I'd lose the 272 cams, the NOS, the Anti-lag, screamer pipe and possibly the AEM. I'd go for 264/264 max, no NOS, No Anti-lag, recirculating WG and a Motec.

You may well be right, I was almost there with my car before it went pop all by itself I have the spent way too much already and lost a lot of faith, Mark at Phoenix is going to give it a BIG once over and tell me what needs to be done/re-done then I will be looking to get it up and running again with around 550-600 fly bhp, the NOS is for Santa Pod and my childish ego having the bottle on show only, the anti lag I have never used after seeing JamieP's turbo failure and the ECU well I was sold that as if it was the holy grail and cant be bothered forking out another £1200 to replace I just dont hope the car gets sorted soon
Jake
I feel your pain mate. You need deep pockets for this modding lark, duncha? Hopefully yours will be sorted after this, and you'll just have the ridiculous running costs to bear

Mark has a couple of people who map AEM so will leave it up to him, I have told him I dont want to see the car until it is fully mapped and finished

Homer
Good luck mate, at least your car is in good hands now. If you want an alternative to the AEM, the LINK ecu might be a possibilty. They are a fractrion of the price.
Jake
you will need a resistor pack for the low impedance injectors. Does the AEM not have the drivers low imp injectors then? That doesn't sound right.
AshBhp
Does the AEM not have the drivers low imp injectors then? That doesn't sound right. AEM is a low imp ECU. I presume Dean Supra is J spec? hence, high imp.

supradibbs
Far be it for me to say but.............. PHR oil pump RE shell the bottom end and have bores etc checked all over last thing you wanna do is pull it apart again botton line is we all know the engine is Dudes but you really dont know the history (thats not a dig) just common sense when installing a engine thats not yours unless i missed it braided fuel lines rail and i would go for 720+ injectors Change the cams out for 264/
Wez
Change the cams. I have a brand new un-opened HKS 264 exhaust I can get dropped off to mark if you want, PM me an offer if interested. The AEM ECU when setup properly is just as good as any other unit and you will need a resistor pack, the ECU was designed as a direct drop in so drives what is on the car as standard.
