China Man
is there anyway to fix that prob? I got that too
keron
i dont think there is a way to fix them. there is a little device on the side of the seat belt that makes it wind back but once it goes...it goes!
China Man
is it hard to change it?
mr keef
How much you guys want for them? cheers:thumbs:
keron
not too difficult to change. just take the rear door card off and you will see it all there. there is about 3 or 4 bolts and one connector (which is for the retracting bit when you open the door.) TRD3000GT
I have recently had the same problem going to order parts from toyota come 2 weeks, New drivers seat belt, New central locking actuator unit... The drivers side belt is not the sort of belt that has explosives is it ??? If it is apparently they are pretty hectic to fit?
dangerous brain
The ones I took off were a dodlle to do and george a guy in poole borrowed the front ones for his MOT and had them back to me in a morning so no big job I am betting. SupraTT2004
does anyone have a spare Drivers side seat belt thingy. like the post describes as my drivers seat belt does not go back in now either. If so how much etc? thanks
dangerous brain
Sometimes its the angle its at that causes the problem. If you take it off you can see a ball inside it that flops about, angle the seat belt until you see the ball fall away from the ratchett bit and it should release it. if anyone wants the one I have just PM me. wez_p
to anyone who's seatbelt is still not retracting, does it retract when you release it from the holder? this is what mine is doing but as soon as i press the release button on the holder it retracts?! i've let the X files know until someone can come up with a reason

dangerous brain
get one of them clippy things from halfords that hold the seat belt out if you can extend it but it keeps catching as you extend it,
wez_p
clippy things technical term i'll have a look in Halfords tomorrow for one of those, but i'm pretty sure that it's something electrical/mechanical that is connected to the button though since this immediately retracts it
dangerous brain
I'm not sure I am understanding here?? the seat belt extends yes? If you pull it out any faster than a snails pace it locks?? It is designed to reel back in on a big spring mechanism inside. So what am I misunderstanding here? OK spaz mode read the post brain lol. It doesn't go back in is the problem I am not understanding oops.

monkey76364
i see im not the only one with a seat belt that wont go back in, its such a pain and i know it will fail the MOT lol
