Went to fit new bath taps, noticed a LOT of damp and water under the bath (great), so last night doing further investigation, turned power shower on to find…well… this….

(sorry it’s sideways but you get the idea)

Gotta love the cretins I bought that place from!!!!

Don't be silly ;) survey people aren't allowed to touch or move anything, therefore they would never have seen that.

on a serious note, you need to follow that up, that is one of the most dangerous things i have seen, i am a sparky all be it a tadge out of practise, some heads need to roll on that one, if you can find out who installed it i suggest you take it further, we are talking risk to life here!! not a funny joke.

I can't believe no-one has said "That's shocking" yet!

Shadow Beast- how could we ever ever prove who fitted it? It would be impossible. I know that the dyke who lived there before me and her dad performed some wonderous bodges, and they fitted the power shower so it was them, or their responsibilty, but it could never be proven.

*edit* for some reason that sounds like I'm being rude to you, it's not meant to sound like that!

At least we found it. Just wish we hadn't been using it for 2.5 years!!

fair one, i take it then there has been a few other misshaps around the house?

it just pisses me off when i see stuff like that, i know people like to tackle diy jobs but that to me could of cost lives, not funny, i take it you are not going to use it now and turn it off where ever it is connected to hope fully there will be a spur near it that you can isolate it by hope to god they have not just wired it to the nearest socket! (prob have though).

From where it is I suspect they have fed it from the oven feed, which is bad as I doubt that fuse would go!!

yeh thats bad! if you got any doubts on the safety side of things get one of you local sparkies round to help you out, i can give you advice on here if you need it, but i should think your going to need the cooker to do dinner unless your going to be doing take aways;)

Can see the headlines now...

"Rosie under the shower" - shock:horror

Hopefully it would have just blown a fuse, but worrying though.

G :)

PS... That was meant to be the title of your vid - not of the possible consequences of the wiring.
