I've managed to get a 42" plasma into my car in the box... needless to say I've had to move the drivers seat forward and for those who know me, there isn't much forward travel left in my seat (being a short arse and all)... Had to ratchet down the boot which should make things interesting when the spoiler starts with its downforce routine. Hmmm, well I've taken it out of the car for the moment, as I only drove it for 5 minutes from the shop, just to make sure... Can't seem to find much on the net regarding it, so I'm very curious. Thorin Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I got told the same thing, but for a different reason. i was told that if it goes on it's side the gasses can mix ? mind you this was from a 17yr old yoof whose acne exploded on clapping eyes on the gf. edit: from doing a bit of searching around it seems it's purely to prevent the screen cracking, two pieces of glass with the gas in between, if it's bounced around layed flat then it's very easy to crack. JustGav Posted September 5, 2007 Author Share Posted September 5, 2007 Yup, made it home in one piece and yes it was due to the glass being so fragile which is good, as I had put lots of padding around the packing box as well.. Went for the LG42 PC56 jobbie.. 1080p input (does 780i/p native I believe), VGA input and all the inputs I need.
