Suprasteve
i don't know too much about Audis and although if i get one it'll be standard and stay standard (famous last words ) but i've noticed on the piston heads classifieds that a lot of them have been modified by a fair few bhp. Is it as simple and cheap as modding a supra or is there much more to it? I've heard people talking about "chipping" them but surely if it was that simple why wouldn't Audi do this to start with ? or have they and called it the RS4 ? pistol pete
yeah it is that simple and very very safe to the engine basically you take it into a tuner they download the program the program basically get "rewritten" by which ever company you choose then it gets put back onto you ecu with all the opriginal wudi codes so everything works the came if you went to audi they would never know the difference when they plug into it it takes about 3-4 hours and about 500 - 600 quid and you got from 280 to about 340-360 bhp it makes a massive difference to the tourque curve and it is the first thing to do to the car it is basically a ecu reflash the only dirrence between the s4 and rs4 on that year is they turbo's manifold and ecu so basically that is what audi did easy to change the turbos etc if you want even more power looking around on audi forums there is lots of easy accessable power from audi forum ecu reflash - 320-360 hp(depends which reflash company is chosen) exhaust and filter 360hp rs4 turbos and manifold 400+hp so yeah easy power to get if you want it and the car will stay as reliable as the day it was new this is a big thing at the moment that is happening to most of the german cars i had my golf gt tdi done went from 150 to 195hp on a diesel HTH pete here is one of the companies for info with a link at the bottom click on car they wil get the s4 to 310 for £599 and explains a bit about it http://www.starperformance.co.uk/tuning.htm that one is called a giacc but i know there are much better ones with more power out there with proven reliabilty
Stonkin
I'm gona try and drive some S4's this w'end as well as some 530's. I have to say, in standard form i love the look of a black 530, but the drive i'm sure i will enjoy more from the S4, i'm just concerned i will be in the same boat fuel wise as i was with the supra.
