RedM
We deal with our BG bills online and have paperless billing. The BG site isn't much cop as it always seems to be closed for maintenance or they are 'improving' it. For these reasons we never bother checking it and just wait for the new bill emails to arrive. Last week we received an email saying we were well overdue paying for our electricity. I thought it odd as we hadn't had a new bill email. All BG emails are filtered into a specific folder. It wasn't in there and a search showed nothing. I checked my ISP jumk mail folder and it wasn't there either. Anyway we paid it and then, today, we get an email saying we have a new bill to pay. It's the one we've just paid that we didn't get an email about. Muppets.
RedM
..and today we also got a bill (in the post) for the same service but for a completely random value. BG say account is clear and they have no idea, yes that's NO IDEA, what the paper bill is all about. You'd think they'd be good at what they do by now. Havard
They are all shit Martin! I have just had two massive bills from Scottish Hydro who apparently didn't charge me the last time I rang up with my debit card.!! It's down to a problem with their system apparently! I think it's something to do with the arsehole on the other end of the phone who didn't have the courtesy to ring me back when there was obviously a problem! Rant over! H. Robbo
I have had exactly the same problem with them last week. They are a fu**ing rip off company. I have been with them for over 2 years but I have just filled in my details on uswitch.com and I am changing company.

jamesmark
my details on uswitch.com and I am changing company. Worst thing you could have done, Uswitch is not impartial and is out of date, it still has 2004 offers on there from British Gas (well it did a couple of months ago) if you wish to change company get your annual consumption from your supplier and you do the leg work. However never EVER give out your full address details as thats is enough for them to switch you. If you have issues give me a PM and see if I can sort something out for you as I work for the rip off merchants lol.

If you have a payment plan the new computer system that we have just bought does not allow refunds whilst you are still on a payment plan, unless it is at the end of the 12 months anything over £50 is automatically refunded. The reason it is difficult (although not really) is it requires the agent to cancel the payment plan and re set it up as the whole point of having a plan is it is based on your consumption and we have customers that just cannot get there head round this and only see the credit on there account and want it back, but wonder why it is when we write to them in the winter months increasing there payments. Obviously there are variables such as lower consumption and warmer spells where people can run into a lot of credit, after all a computer that bills accoounts cannot predict the weather.
