I'm going to get the car sorted this winter and drive to the Stelvio Pass next summer. What an awesome looking road.

Looks like a fair old trip but it's gotta be done.:)

Ive done Stelvio Pass a couple of times. Doing it again this year. My best descent time was around the 15min mark bearing in mind that a normal descent is about 25mins, oh and that was in a 1981 Honda accord 1.6 which i brought for £47. Over taking is not easy, and it is very hard on the brakes. The accords Brakes failed on the last corner, disks were cherry red and had to wait over an hour for them to cool down, but well worth it.

Last time i did a rd trip like that was in a flat bed recovery truck collecting a damaged 550 Marranello from Modena, no fun at all :(

and came back through the Mt Blanc tunnel.

 

Why was that no fun then?? I think that would be a great trip!

 

Maybe a trip to the "Ring" would be better for getting to Stelvio then?

Ford Transit flat bed, need i say more :D was supposed to be a 2 day trip but the Italians screwed up the paperwork and was stuck in Modena for a week with only the cloths we went in etc.

I did mention the roadtrip earlier... oh, and I'm 78 mins north of the Ring. September... 3rd or 4th week?

 

I'd be up for a rd trip but def need to take a few days doing it.

 

Calais to the ring is 500 kms as near as damn it so 3 ish hours for me :D oh and 2 ish in the uk.

 

Stelvio is 750 kms from the ring, anyone fancy getting pizza :D
