SimonP
Been to Shakespeare County Raceway and managed to beat my previous best of 13.5, by getting a 13.357 @ 108.14 mph! Heres the slip Reaction 0.27435 60ft 2.291 330ft 5.91 MPH 1 85.90 660ft 8.78720 990ft 11.198 MPH 2 108.14 1320ft 13.357 Car is j-spec auto with BPU @ 1 bar and stock smic Hi - I am new to this forum - I was at Shakespeare County Raceway yesterday as well and I met Hadyn - his run looked good. I was also running my Supra (j-spec 6 speed with stock turbo's, boost controller at 1.2 bar, uprated feul pump, exhaust, air filter, front mounted intercooler, modified cams and drag radials) and I ran 12.471 secs @ 116.75mph. MONKEYmark
NEW RECORD HOLDER straight in at no1 well done simon heres the spec of his car he sent me in email.he ran his best time at rotostock2. i have hosted a pic of his car from santapod and put is timeslip in corner. looks like he has a lot of power there with the mph 01. 11.822 @ 117.96 mph Simon P (TT6) JAP (Rotostock2) 60ft 1.864 (16" BFG`s) @1.2bar Rotostock 2 times Simon is JR1 Hi Mark I have been drag racing my Supra for around 3 years gradually modifying the car and improving my times. At the beginning of the year I had got the car down to low 12's. The spec of the car is as follows: 1993 Supra twin turbo 6 speed (silver) Stock turbos HKS Super Power Flow air filter HKS EVC5 boost controller running at 1.2 bar Walbro fuel pump (255 lph) HKS FCD HKS Spec S intercooler Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust HKS mid pipe - still retaining front cat HKS cams (In 256/Ex 264) HKS vernier cam pulleys Irudium spark plugs BF Goodrich Drag radials 255x50x16 Then I ran a personal best of 11.822 secs @ 117.96mph at the Rotorstock 2 event at Shakespeare County Raceway at the end of May this year. The details of the run were as follows:- 60ft 1.864secs 330ft 5.023secs 1/8 ET 7.650secs 1/8 MPH 92.59mph 990ft 9.854 secs 1/4 ET 11.822 secs 1/4 MPH 117.96 mph I got my best ever launch ever (cold day, fresh track & dropped the clutch @ 6000rpm). Unfortunately on the next run the clutch started to slip! I replaced the clutch with a CentreForce dual friction clutch and new flywheel which had to be run in for 600-700 miles. On the next outing at Santa Pod at the beginning of July I did a couple of runs and then on the 3rd run I dropped the clutch at 5000 rpm, there was a loud bang and the car did not move! I thought I has broken the gearbox but it turned out I had snapped the front section of the prop shaft! I have replaced the prop shaft and ran a best of 12.471 secs @ 116.75mph at Shakespeare County Raceway last weekend. I plan to be at the Jap Show at Santa Pod on Sunday - are you going? I have attached a picture of my car launching off the line at Santa Pod

how_supra
Can someone explain to me why on 1/4, specifically mph recordings why they don't necessarily correlate with 1/4 times in seconds. For example James got 13.09 @ 110.29mph and Suprasteve got 13.178 @ 111.10mph. This is just one example of this. I don't get it. Surely the higher your MPH speed the faster you were going? I know I'm simple, and suspect there is a simple answer

I know I'm simple, and suspect there is a simple answer A good launch gets you lower times, a lot of power gets you higher speeds. The good launch means you have more speed earlier, which means more distance covered earlier. You would leave standing a powerful car that had a crap launch. The powerful car might be "reeling you in" at the end of the drag run, because it's going faster by then, but if it doesn't catch you, you'll have the lower time This is how I ran a 12.8 @129mph -Ian

So he had one poor launch on one go [101mph - so he must have made up ground in the middle??]
Kevin Huntley
Hi Mark, how you doing? Hows the car coming along? Could you please update my times from the weekend I will gaz to post up the slip. Can you also add my top speed run at Elvington to top speed times for single Turbo cars I think 188.9mph was the final speed. Could you also add my 60ft time to the list. There is also the Dyno plot from Thor 797bhp @ 1.8 bar on 102 octane fuel. The video is in the multi-media section. Let me know if you need any more info. Stevie Boy
Cheers mate, many thanks for your hints n tips on Auto draggin, although i've now managed to piss a couple of my mates off! 1bein the owner of a well modified R33 Skyline, the other with a well modded RX7,n they wished they could get in the 12's!! hee, hee. I'm not sure i noticed much difference taking Traction Control fuse out but did it anyway on your recommendation. I had a few probs with traction at the Pod which i didn't recall having at Rotorstock2 earlier in the year(best ET there was [email protected]) i was running on 18" rims with 265/40 street radials Contisport contact. At the Pod i ran with the smaller 17" stock rims with 255/40 Bridgstone Potenza RE020. Didn't think the 10mm width loss would have made me loose that much traction, harder compound? different trac preparation? Dropped tyre pressures down to 1.5bar and still struggled to put the power down. Any recommendations for decent size and type to run on stock 17's (9 1/2J) ive been told to look at Toyo RA888 or summink?
