Paul Posted June 4, 2002 Share Posted June 4, 2002 Hi all, My rear pads are getting low and should have been changed by now but in the last couple of days I've noticed a squeel from the rear wheel area. Now could this be the 'wear strip thingy' in the pads (just worn down to that?). The noise is not a rumble, more of a metallic squeek and is all the time, not just when braking. Cheers, Paul. Digsy Posted June 5, 2002 Share Posted June 5, 2002 I think the noisemaker is set to contact the disk when there is only 1mm or 2mm of "meat" left on the pad. The minimum running thickness is 1mm. My brakes squeal anyway (sometimes)... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
