JohnA
...I thought Shell, BP etc were supposed to be big responsible companies. How come they don't keep better tabs on their forecourts? On a totally different note, last time I checked they were mildly profitable too:d
b_have
I bought one a couple of years ago - it worked once and never again. I concluded that it was total crap, and wouldn't waste my money again. You two have convinced me that I was just unlucky, so I guess I'll pick another one up over the weekend. Don't you have one in the 964? I still have the one from my 928S4 from many moons ago
michael
I thought Shell, BP etc were supposed to be big responsible companies. How come they don't keep better tabs on their forecourts? As far as I can see it's simply a franchise operation so ultimately it's down to the guy running each garage, as long as the bills are paid and the profit comes in I suspect the corporation suits don't give a crap. This probably explains why their jet washes also tend to be so neglected compared with the supermarket ones - bent lances, filthy brushes, settings that don't have the necessary chemicals in so you just get water or my most recent gripe where the rinse cycle contains foam so you never get all the soap off. I guess that's a lesson learnt for being lazy though
mattanna
I agree Michael, as tyre pressures are so crucial garage machines should be checked daily and certified, they are known to be very inaccurate, i now check my tyre pressure with a mini digital guage and inflate them with foot pump to get required pressure
DaveK
Don't you have one in the 964? I still have the one from my 928S4 from many moons ago I do, but there is a slight flaw with it (in the 964 anyway). It powers from the lighter socket, and years ago I had the socket rewired so that it was live with the ignition off (because at the time I had a solar charger that charged via the lighter socket). Unfortunately - they wired it into a 10A circuit - and the compressor blows the fuse whenever I try to use it. Might work in the Supra I guess.
